Arts & Business Scotland Development Forum (Borders)
Culture Republic is pleased to be speaking at the upcoming Arts & Business Scotland Development Forum in the Borders. Join us Thursday 21 May 2015 at Volunteer Hall, St John Street, Galashiels TD1 3JX.
These events provide an opportunity for participants from the cultural, public and private sector to engage and share best practice. They are open to both members and non-members of Arts & Business Scotland.
Programme
Registration: 1.30pm
Event: 2pm-4.30pm, followed by drinks and nibbles, with opportunities to network throughout the afternoon
Guest Speakers:
Kathryn Ellaway, Senior Research Executive, Culture Republic will explore:
- Key trends in cultural tourism
- Travellers from elsewhere in the UK
- The economic impact of cultural tourists to e.g. festivals and the benefits of bringing in audiences from further afield
- Scottish regional variations in visitor profiles, in terms of where tourists are drawn from
Dom Hastings, Festival Manager, Bloody Scotland Festival, Scotland’s International Crime Writing Festival will:
- Tell the story of the how this festival began in 2012
- Explain – why Stirling?
- Demonstrate how this small scale festival has brought significant economic impact to Stirling
